Thank you everyone for the great feedback on the last chapter . . . it is so nice to know that so many of you are still enjoying the story . . . even if I do keep you hanging from the edge of your seats each time! lol
That’s not really the reason I’m writing today, however . . . the real reason I wanted to write was to say a big thank you to everyone for your continued support of this site. In the next day or so we will be clicking over on 100,000 page views for the site . . . something that simply amazes and humbles me! Never did I dream that we would reach such lofty heights in such a short time, so from the bottom of my heart I just wanted to thank you all once again.
But wait . . . there’s more . . .
I also wanted to tell you about a little gem I discovered this past week. Actually, I didn’t really discover it … more like it was thrust into my hands . . . and I’m so glad it was! lol
I recently met a reader online, who just happened to be a published author himself. The long and the short of it was that after we had emailed back and forth a few times he very generously sent me a gift . . . a copy of his baby . . . a story called Albert’s Wars. (Click on the link and it should take you to his website).
I settled in to start reading it late last week and finished over the weekend and I simply can’t say enough good things about this one. To me it’s a classic story of Aussie mateship, but it’s more than that, it’s a touching story of a young guy, trying to survive in tough times, growing up, and discovering himself along the way. Here’s a brief blurb from the website . . .
It’s 1941. World War 2.
Albert has grown up in the slums of Fitzroy.
He has learned how to survive.
Then he meets a bloke in a Xavier College uniform.
Why does Xavier’s smile worry him?
Then he’s forced into the Australian Navy.
Can he survive there while he finds out who he really is?
And can he survive when he finds out?
So, if you are looking for a really good read, this is one that I suggest you check out. It’s available from his website, and also on Amazon as an e-book. If you like Aussie stories I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Okay then, that’s probably enough from me for now . . . I had better get back to work on my next chapter, seeing as it is starting to take shape already!
Take care!
