Hi Folks

It appears that it has been like, forever since I’ve been on here. My only excuse is that real life has been getting in the way again. Sorry about that!

Firstly I would just like to say that I hope everyone had a happy Christmas and the the New Year has started off well for you, and continues on that way for the rest of the year.
I have had a few worries on the home front, with bush fires and drought and lack of water on the little farm causing much angst, but the new year has started well, with some rain and a green tinge across the bare paddocks. Things are on the up and up it seems.

On the writing front you’ll be pleased to hear I haven’t been entirely idle in the past year, even if the proof of this hasn’t been posted yet. I have been working on some new chapters for the Sandmen series, which will be posted once back from being edited. In December I also decided I wanted to try a story that fitted with the Christmas season and I eventually managed to finish it . . . only a week and a bit late! lol

‘Traditions‘ has now been posted under the Thompson River Tales series.

I hope that you enjoy this, even if it is a little late.

Hi folks. So, just to prove I haven’t been totally idle in recent times, here’s the latest update on my publishing exploits … or experiment … or whatever you want to call it! 🙂

After having ‘The Mardi Gras Murders’ published locally it has proved a bit difficult to be able to distribute this, especially outside of Australia, due to the incredibly expensive postage rates we have here. I think it cost me something like AU$13 just to post it within Australia, but to get it to the US it was going to cost almost AU$40. And that’s without the cost of the book itself! Sheesh!!!

So, we’ve had a bit of a rethink on how best to handle this and we have now created an online store thru http://www.lulu.com, where they can be printed and distributed much more economically, particularly for people outside of Australia. (and even if you live inside Australia the postage on bringing one from the USA – my test copies at least – is around the same as internal postage within AU. Go figure!)

So, having done that I’m pleased to announce that the first two titles have been set up on Lulu and should now be available. Please check out my store!

From time to time I will also have some signed copies of books available, which I have had printed locally (such as the copies of MGM which I currently have on hand) and will advise on how they can be purchased once that has been finalised.

Sooo, I know it’s been a while since I’ve been in here, and while I haven’t been all that active on the writing front over the past couple of years, people have often asked me if I’m still writing. The answer to that is yes, but as I have said before, I don’t have anything new that is ready for posting or publishing just yet.

What I can say, however, is that I have been constantly tinkering with stories, both old and new, while also working toward finally achieving one of my long held goals, which has always been to have one of my stories published.

I am now pleased to be able to say that I have finally achieved that goal, with the help of some friends in my home town and the small businesses they operate! This week I took delivery of a box containing some copies of my story ‘The Mardi Gras Murders’, which represent a considerable amount of time and effort spent on this project this year, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! They are A5 size (approx. 21cm X 14.85cm) and 523 pages.

The guys who have published them for me will have some available to purchase in the near future, so I will make those details available once known (once they can set up a web page or put them on ebay or whatever — just not sure how that’s going to happen just yet).
Anyhow, it was a thrill to finally hold a copy of my very own book in my hot little hands and I’m excited that I will finally be able to share these with those who have been asking for printed copies over the years!

Now to get the next one ready (After We Danced), which will be followed by all of the stories in that series, then on to my other stories. Exciting times!

Well, it has taken me a while, but I’ve finally managed to get the better of the final chapter in the Legends story.

It was one of those chapters that seemed to everywhere but where I wanted it to, and that, coupled with everything else that was happening last year, made finishing it off more than difficult, so in the end I found myself unable to keep going with it at the time.

Anyhow, that was last year, and now we’re in another year all together and things are different, so it was about time I got back into the swing of things.

So, for better or for worse, the final chapter has now been posted. Please enjoy. 🙂

Yes folks, as hard as it may be for some to believe, I’ve finally managed to complete something new, get it edited and now posted on here! Sometimes I even surprise myself! 😉

As you’re probably aware, the last year hasn’t exactly been an easy one, which has severely curtailed my writing time, and desire (to be perfectly frank).  That didn’t mean that I had given up completely, however. In fact I’ve been tinkering with some story ideas – both old and new – as time has allowed and I’m pleased to say that I’ve finally managed to get something completed and then post it.

My new short story, Chances, is intended to form part of a new series to be called Summer Shorts, for which I am currently tinkering with a few other story ideas to add to it.

I have also finally completed the final chapter of the Legends story, which will be polished up and posted just as soon as it is ready,

So, before I ride off into the sunset once more I’d just like to say a big thank you to all of you who have sent your best wishes and kind thoughts and encouragement over these past months. Your support, and your patience, has been very much appreciated.

I hope you enjoy this new short story and promise to be back online again soon!

Howdy folks. Just wanted to let you all know that I’m still in the land of the living . . . and to thank everyone for their lovely messages and emails!

I’m sorry that it has been so long since I’ve been online, but as I’ve previously said, last year was a real challenge and I just haven’t been able to get anything accomplished that I had wanted to.

I can say that there are things in the pipeline, so all being well this year will be the year I can get back on track.

Thank you again for all your encouragement . . . and especially your patience! Your support means a lot to me!

Judging by the messages and emails I’ve been receiving, it seems a few folks have been worried I’ve fallen off the face of the planet, or something, seeing as it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything!

Thank you all for your concern. I’m fine . . . really . . . I’ve just been snowed under with work and other stuff, and as a result my writing time (and, to tell you the truth, my desire) has been somewhat curtailed.

I can tell you, however, that I’ve still been chipping away at some new chapters for the current stories, as time allows, so hopefully at some point in the near future I’ll have something to post. I’ve also been mapping out a couple or major projects that are on the horizon, so rest assured there’ll be plenty of new stuff in the future once life settles down once more.

Thanks again to everyone who has been in touch recently. Your kind thoughts have meant a great deal to me.

Howdy folks!

Yes! I made it through the first part of the silly season . . . lots of family around . . . lots of good food . . . and a self-imposed exile from the internet for a few days . . . t’was all good!

Of course, I’m not going near a set of scales for a while . . . I think I’ll let things get back to normal first . . . which will be some time after New Year! 😉

Anyhow, amidst all the mayhem I did manage to finally get that piece finished that I had been working on before Christmas, so now, even though it’s a few days late and hasn’t come back from my editor yet, I’m going to post it anyhow!

It’s called Joyride and is set in the Thompson River universe. It’s the story of the local cool dude who gets a little more than he bargains for when he takes a car for a joyride after the Christmas dance! Enjoy!

Please be gentle on me . . . there are probably a heap of errors in it . . . all of which are mine entirely, but once the edited version is back I will whip the rough copy out and replace it with the good one, so hopefully nobody will be any the wiser! mwahahah!

Anyhow, I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday, and that the coming New Year is a good one for us all! I would also like to thank all of you for the messages and emails and support and suggestions and coersion throughout the past year! It has really meant a great deal to me!

Hello all!  Yes, the countdown is on for the day the guy in the big red suit flies in. Have you been good this past year? lol

I realise, of course, that not everyone observes this ancient pagan celebration (that was said tongue in cheek I hope you noticed . . . hehehehe), and I have no issue with that, so whatever the festive occasion is that you do celebrate I hope you have a wonderful time, and that the New Year is a special one which brings us all everything we wish for!

And as for what’s happening in my neck of the woods, I will be having family visiting . . . and after all the racing around I’ve done today I think  I’m over it already! 😉

I’m still having internet issues . . . I’m even trying a new ISP at the moment (which isn’t proving to be much better) . . . so between that and the fact that I’ve been snowed under with work this past month it means that my time online has been intermittent, at best, and my available time spent writing has been even worse of late. I was hoping to have a new Thompson River Tale ready for you by Christmas, but alas that hasn’t eventuated. It has something of a Christmas theme, so I will try and post it shortly, just as soon as I’m able to get it completed for you.

Okay then, that’s about all the news from here for the moment. Once again I want to wish you a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays, or whatever it is you prefer, and I hope we can catch up again soon!

Howdy folks. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while . . . I’m having major problems with my ISP and being able to do very much online. Apparently they are doing upgrades in our area and speeds have been slowed right down (or I’ve been unable to connect at all), which has made it extremely difficult to even connect to the internet!

Anyhow, things are working okay today, so while the going is good I’ve managed to upload a new chapter for you of Sandmen (Book 2, Chapter 1).

That’s all I have for you at the moment, but I’m still trying to get some more chapters completed and will post them as they become available.
