Oh my! Oh wow!

Well folks, once again you have left me speechless. Not only by the fact that we’ve had another record day on the website, with there having been 1883 page views, but also by your comments and emails. I am truly grateful for the support that you continue to given me! Thank you so much!

When I started writing A Good Place one of the things that I had in mind was that I would like to try and publish it … you know, as in a book … with the intention then being to donate the proceeds to a cause that I felt was worthy, and which reflected, at least in part, one of the themes from the story; that of troubled, homeless and abused youth.

In the end I didn’t go down the publishing path (or at least I haven’t tried to as yet), instead opting to post the story on my website for you all. Now that I have done that and the story has been completed, however, I think I’m going to ask a favour of those of you who may be in a position to help out.

I have never asked for anything from any of you … in fact I have even rejected offers from some of you to donate to me personally to help cover my internet costs etc … but now I think I am going to ask you for something … but remember it’s not for me, okay?

In Australia there are a number of organisations dealing with the problem of affected youth, but there is one in particular that does an amazing job, through a wide variety of programs, one of which is managed by a friend of mine. It is Father Chris Riley’s YOUTH OFF THE STREETS. Just take a look at their website to see the type of services they provide for vulnerable Australian youth.

As I mentioned, they do an amazing job, but as with all of these organisations funding can be hard to come by. So, here’s what I am asking you to do. If you liked my story and if you are in a position to be able to help (and I can certainly understand that some of you won’t be able to, or some of you are already supporting other worthy causes in your area, so it’s perfectly okay if you can’t) … there is a Donate Now button on their website (just click on the link above).

If you can help out even in just a small way (like the cost of a cup of coffee), I would be very grateful, as I am sure Youth of the Streets would be as well!!!

Anyhow, thank you again for all your support … and I’ll see you again next Thursday!

Take care!
