Hot damn!!!

Wow! What can I say folks … I’m almost speechless!
Thank you so much for your response to the final chapters of Mardi Gras Murders! Your messages and emails mean a great deal to me!
Sorry for dragging it out so long … but it had to end on just the right note … and I’d like to think I managed that by adding the epilogue. I’m a bit worried, however, about the death threats that came once some of you had finished Chapter 35 and before you read the epilogue! I know you didn’t really mean it … did you? lol
I’m also quite excited about the response I’ve been receiving for A Good Place. It seems this story is really growing on people … which is exactly what I wanted to happen … so I hope you continue to enjoy it as we explore Tony and Aaron’s reunion and everything else that goes on in Thompsonville.
And to top it all off, yesterday was officially our biggest day EVER! There were 1267 page views for the day, and the total number of page views are now over 150,000! That’s pretty awesome!
Thanks again … and happy reading!

OK, so now it’s time to take a deep breath . . . . .

So, how was your Christmas? I hope you all had a wonderful time?

Now the madness is over and (for me at least) it’s time to take a deep breath and try to let things get back to normal for a while!

To be perfectly honest though, right now Christmas is the last thing I want to be thinking about, coz my head is still ringing, my shoulder is aching, and my wallet is crying! It’s one of those times of year that I look forward to, yet at the same time I dread . . . and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way . . . or maybe I am, and I’m just turning into Scrooge in my old age? LOL

I have to say that Christmas these days is so much different to what I remember from when I was a kid. There are still the same old family gatherings, and the presents, and all the food, but because of the pace of life today, and the pressures of work and simply getting by, the opportunity to simply enjoy the festive season just isn’t quite the same. Maybe next year we will be able to slow down and actually get to enjoy it, rather than have to rush, rush, rush, and spend, spend, spend!

Anyhow, for the weeks leading into Christmas I was so flat out with work, both for the company I’m employed by and also with the other work I do from home, that December was just a blur for me. In the end I had Christmas Eve off work, so I was finally able to get my shopping done … but only just! lol

As for this Christmas, well, I had been looking forward to a relaxing few days, mainly just so I could recharge my batteries, but then of course it slipped my mind that my sister and all her family would be visiting … so there went the peace and quiet. I’m thinking that Scrooge must have had a family not unlike mine … and that’s what made him the way he was, coz I tell ya, by the time they all left I was seriously contemplating banning all future Christmases all together! 😉

Anyhow, for Boxing Day we all visited some relatives, where we had a b-b-q, along with our traditional family game of ‘backyard cricket’, which resulted in my re-injuring my shoulder which I had hurt mid-way through the year. Twenty or so people ranging in age from about 6 to 60 running around a wet and slippery back yard (from the rain), yelling, screaming, laughing, crying and pretending they know how to play the game, does not exactly constitute a relaxing time . . . but hey, it’s Christmas, and I guess it’s only one (or two) day(s) a year!

On the plus side, though, the good news is that the rellies have now left, we’ve had two inches of rain since Christmas Day (which was much needed for the farm), and in the lull that was the weekend, I’ve managed to get a pile of writing done!

So, that’s it for another year. As I said, I hope yours was a good one, and I hope that your New Year celebrations later this week are equally good!

Take care ya’ll.

PS … oh yeah … I almost forgot … I’ve just posted two more chapters of A Good Place! Enjoy!

So … you guys were right!

Well folks, a few of you told me that it could be a tall order wrapping up Mardi Gras Murders with just one more chapter … and it seems you were right! lol

I thought it might have ended up being a long one, but in the end it was just going to be too long, so what I’ve done is complete Chapter 33 and had it edited, while Chapter 34 will **hopefully** follow quite soon! 😉

I’ve also added the next two chapters of A Good Place … which finally sees … oh hang on … why spoil it? tee hee hee

Okay then, so with that out of the way, if I don’t get back online in the next day or so (which is quite possible knowing my crappy internet provider), I would just like to thank everyone for your continued support throughout the past year — it really does mean a lot to me knowing that people are enjoying reading what I write — and also wish each and every one of you a safe and happy Christmas, and a wonderful 2015!

Take care.

I’m about half way through writing the next (and final) chapter, so keep an eye out for that one!

I’m glad that you folks are enjoying this one as well, even though it is only early days yet! I have now just posted the next two chapters of this story for you, so I hope you enjoy these as well.  🙂

Something new . . .

Hello all!

I know you’ve been waiting patiently for the next installment of Mardi Gras Murders, but I’m afraid I have an apology to make! Life has caught up with me in recent weeks and I’ve been swamped with work, so I haven’t quite been able to finish off the next chapter just yet . . .  😦

I promise I’ll get it done just as soon as I can, but right now I really do have a pile of real work I need to get finished, so that will have to come first.

All is not lost however, as tonight I bring you something of a peace offering!  🙂

I have posted the first two chapters of a new story I wrote last year and have been threatening to publish for some time now. This wasn’t quite how I intended to put the story out there — my original plan was to publish it in book form — but seeing as it is basically completed (apart from some edits I still need to do on later chapters) I’m happy to start posting it for you now, just so you don’t feel too neglected!  😉

The story is called A Good Place, and I really enjoyed writing this one, so I hope you enjoy re-visiting Thompsonville and all the characters from those earlier stories!

Enjoy!
