Yes, things are still happening . . .

Hello all!  Thank you so much for the feedback I have received regarding the last chapter of Mardi Gras Murders. I’m so glad that there are so many people who seem hooked on the story! 🙂

I’m about half way through writing the next (and final) chapter, so keep an eye out for that one!

Thank you also to those who have taken the time to send me some feedback on A Good Place.

I’m glad that you folks are enjoying this one as well, even though it is only early days yet! I have now just posted the next two chapters of this story for you, so I hope you enjoy these as well.  🙂

Take care, and enjoy!

Something new . . .

Hello all!

I know you’ve been waiting patiently for the next installment of Mardi Gras Murders, but I’m afraid I have an apology to make! Life has caught up with me in recent weeks and I’ve been swamped with work, so I haven’t quite been able to finish off the next chapter just yet . . .  😦

I promise I’ll get it done just as soon as I can, but right now I really do have a pile of real work I need to get finished, so that will have to come first.

All is not lost however, as tonight I bring you something of a peace offering!  🙂

I have posted the first two chapters of a new story I wrote last year and have been threatening to publish for some time now. This wasn’t quite how I intended to put the story out there — my original plan was to publish it in book form — but seeing as it is basically completed (apart from some edits I still need to do on later chapters) I’m happy to start posting it for you now, just so you don’t feel too neglected!  😉

The story is called A Good Place, and I really enjoyed writing this one, so I hope you enjoy re-visiting Thompsonville and all the characters from those earlier stories!

Enjoy!

Some links now fixed … and other news :)

Howdy folks, just letting you know that I’ve now fixed up some broken links on this site to some or my earlier stories ( After We Danced, Song For Guy, The Rip, Thompsonville ) and directed them toward where they are located on Nifty.org.

The reason for this was due to my old host site being shut down, so as a temporary measure — until I can get the re-writes and re-edits on them done so they can be re-posted on here — I’ve shifted the links to enable you good folks to continue to read them.

There are also still a few other stories that I also need to do this for, and I’ll get to them just as soon as I can. 🙂

And in other news . . .

The next chapter of Mardi Gras Murders is currently being edited, so it should be posted in the next few days!

I can also tell you that I’m really excited about an upcoming posting (just three more sleeps!) on the site crvboy.org, being the first appearance of the sequel to one of my very favourite Aussie stories: Love on the Rocks by Marcus McNally.

Okay then, that’s about it for now. Stay tuned for Chapter 31 of Mardi Gras Murders, which will be posted just as soon as it is back from editing!

Take care . . . and happy reading!!!

Hello again!

Howdy folks. Just a quick post to let you know that I’ve just added the latest chapter to Mardi Gras Murders! Please enjoy!

Thanks very much for all your messages and emails. I truly appreciate the feedback I have been receiving! 🙂

On another note, I’ve also been advised by a couple of readers that for some reason they don’t seem to be receiving the update messages when a new post has been added. If you have subscribed to the site so that you receive an automated message when each post is made, but are experiencing the same problem, I would appreciate it if you could please let me know. At least that way I can get WordPress to check it out. If I need to I’ll switch back to maintaining a manual list, but that seems to be a step backward to me! 😉

Thanks again for your support. I hope you enjoy the latest chapter! 🙂

Here we go again . . .

Hello all. Yep, it’s the start of a new month, and the start of a new season here, with winter now a distant memory and spring commencing with sunshine and warm days, so what better way to start the new month than with a new chapter of Mardi Gras Murders!

Please enjoy!

You may recall that last month we were about to hit the magic mark of 100,000 page views on this website. Well, I’m pleased to say that we have now smashed through that barrier and are currently sitting on more than 103,000 hits!

Thank you all so much for your support of this site!

Oh golly-gosh!

Thank you everyone for the great feedback on the last chapter . . . it is so nice to know that so many of you are still enjoying the story . . . even if I do keep you hanging from the edge of your seats each time! lol

That’s not really the reason I’m writing today, however . . . the real reason I wanted to write was to say a big thank you to everyone for your continued support of this site. In the next day or so we will be clicking over on 100,000 page views for the site . . . something that simply amazes and humbles me! Never did I dream that we would reach such lofty heights in such a short time, so from the bottom of my heart I just wanted to thank you all once again.

But wait . . . there’s more . . .

I also wanted to tell you about a little gem I discovered this past week. Actually, I didn’t really discover it … more like it was thrust into my hands . . . and I’m so glad it was! lol

I recently met a reader online, who just happened to be a published author himself. The long and the short of it was that after we had emailed back and forth a few times he very generously sent me a gift . . . a copy of his baby . . . a story called Albert’s Wars. (Click on the link and it should take you to his website).

I settled in to start reading it late last week and finished over the weekend and I simply can’t say enough good things about this one. To me it’s a classic story of Aussie mateship, but it’s more than that, it’s a touching story of a young guy, trying to survive in tough times, growing up, and discovering himself along the way. Here’s a brief blurb from the website . . .

It’s 1941. World War 2.
Albert has grown up in the slums of Fitzroy.
He has learned how to survive.
Then he meets a bloke in a Xavier College uniform.
Why does Xavier’s smile worry him?
Then he’s forced into the Australian Navy.
Can he survive there while he finds out who he really is?
And can he survive when he finds out?

So, if you are looking for a really good read, this is one that I suggest you check out. It’s available from his website, and also on Amazon as an e-book. If you like Aussie stories I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Okay then, that’s probably enough from me for now . . . I had better get back to work on my next chapter, seeing as it is starting to take shape already!

Take care!

A few reasons to smile…

While the last couple of months have been a bit trying for me, today I have a few reasons to smile.
First of all, it is raining, and for the first time in quite a while. The weather forecasters got it right for a change! (lol) Hopefully now the farm will get some grass growing for the spring, because we desperately need it!
Secondly, my football team just won … their first win at that venue since the year 2000 (it was an ‘away’ game and it was only the second time in something like 17 games that we have been the team we played today! woo-hoo! lol)
And last, but not least, I’ve just been able to finish the edits on Chapter 28 of Mardi Gras Murders, and post it, just for you! 🙂
Please enjoy!
